Did Einstein really flunk math?

Re: the link on Einstein and math: not very authoritative itself, especially given that it ends with this sentence
“He even came up on his own with a way to prove the Pythagorean theory.”
Maybe Isaacson is referring to not eating beans…
Re: Breaking down the Apple logo Fibonacci style
Not sure what to make of this. Does anyone think this really relates the Apple logo with Fibonacci geometrical constructs in any meaningful way? If you’re allowed arbitrary rotations, reflection and selection, can’t you decompose almost any arbitrary figure into (apparently) Fibonacci components?
Re: Breaking down the Apple logo Fibonacci style
I agree with Mr. Fawcett, this is the same apophenia that underlies Fibonacci retracement technical analysis of the stock market. I believe you stat junkies call this a Type I error.
The Einstein link is dead by now. I think the article now is at

(Yes, I know I’m late. I just tend to procrastinate on reading the w+ miscellany articles as they are a little unpredictable on how much time I need to look through them
)
Thanks. I’ve updated the link.
