In the southwest corner of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Heidelberg there is a stained glass window containing Einstein’s equation E = mc2 near the bottom.
Most of the windows in the church are much lighter, both in color and in content. This window is not prominent; I only noticed it the second time I was in the church.
I think the text at the top of the window quotes 2 Peter 3:10 and Isaiah 54:10. The date is the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
2 Peter 3:10
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
Isaiah 54:10
“…For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
When the window was commissioned and installed?
That seems a bit unfair on Einstein and his equation, somehow.

I saw this window this summer on a visit to Heidelberg. I don’t think the second verse is Isaiah 54:10… I do wonder what the second verse is, though.
