I caught a glimpse of a book in a library this morning and thought the title was “Statistics for People Who Think.” Sounds like a great book!
But the title was actually “Statistics for People Who (Think They) Hate Statistics” which is far less interesting.
The second title would be / would have been valuable to me. I decided in the 70s, in my UCLA days, not to go for a doctorate because I “knew” (sic) that I wouldn’t be able to learn statistics. Which is, yes, a bit different than hating statistics, but close enough for me to have chosen another, less captivating career path.
